CareerCenter events in March

PARIS — The WMCA CareerCenter in South Paris is located at 4 Western Avenue in South Paris (Chamber of Commerce building). Hours are by appointment. Staff assistance is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walk-in hours are available every Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Norway Memorial Library.

Types of assistance available

• Orientation to CareerCenter Services including training

If you lack skills to seek new employment and were laid off from your last job or are low income, you may wish to attend and find out how the CareerCenter can help. The CareerCenter assists with occupationally based skills training for those that are eligible and will need training in order to return to work.

• Assistance with registering with the Maine Job Bank

Customers can register from home or from any computer with Internet access by visiting the following link: http://www.mainecareercenter.com/ but those needing a little assistance with the process may want to visit CareerCenter staff at the Norway Memorial Library.

• Assistance with online job applications

Customers can do online applications from home or from any computer with Internet access but those needing a little assistance with the process may want to visit the CareerCenter staff at the Norway Memorial Library.

• Referral to local resources

CareerCenter staff are available to provide referrals to local resources. Call 743-7763, extension 1 or visit CareeCenter staff at the Norway Memorial Library.
