Creatures great and small

We are checking in to tell you that everything is good at the Responsible Pet Care shelter although we are bursting at the seams. We have a shelter-full of cats and kittens. Our small dog area has been full of lost dogs and dogs waiting for their new homes all summer.

We currently have four dogs waiting to be adopted that are in-house or in foster care. You can see our available dogs on our website: http://www.rpc.petfinder.com.

Meow special

Until August 14 the adoption fee for all cats and kittens has been reduced by 50% thanks to a generous friend of the shelter who will pay the other 50%. This is a great time to add a feline to your family.

Yard Sale

Our annual summer yard sale will be held on Saturday, August 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the shelter at 132 Waterford Road in Norway. If you have things to sell you can purchase table space for $10.

Or, join us for the bargains; listen and dance to music by T J the D J; and purchase grilled hotdogs and hamburgers for lunch.

Raffle

Tickets are on sale now for our summer raffle. The prizes are an original painting by the very talented artist, Dianne Hooper; a Longerberger basket filled with all-things Maine; and a pail-full of scratch tickets. Tickets are $1 each or 6/$5 and can be purchased at our thrift shop, Pawsibilities or at the yard sale.

Rabies clinic

Our next rabies vaccination clinic will be held at the Norway fire station on Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The cost of a rabies vaccination is $10.

Bring your pet on a leash or in a carrier. Bring proof of a previous rabies vaccination. First come, first served. Be prepared to wait.

Dog walkers

We are looking for dog-walkers to walk the dogs at night.
