Church Women

OTISFIELD — Church Women United will meet on Friday, November 2, at 9:30 a.m. at the Community of Resurrection in Otisfield. This is World Community Day and the program is "Sights and Sounds of Harmony." All are welcome and refreshments will be served. To carpool, meet at 8:45 a.m. at St. Catherine's Church in Norway.

DUVCW

NORWAY — Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-65, Hannah F. Richardson Tent 19 held their monthly meeting on October 24, at the home of Marilyn Jones in Norway. Marge Nihan won the mystery prize.

The November meeting will be held on November 28, at 6 p.m. at the same location. This will be the first nomination of officers. Plans are being finalized for the Christmas party and the second nomination of officers for the new year.

Harrison Historical

HARRISON — The Harrison Historical Society will not be holding a regular meeting in November. Instead, they encourage everyone to support the Veteran’s Supper hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ronald St. John VFW Post 9328 which will be held on Sunday, November 11 at the VFW hall on the Waterford Road. There will be a meet and greet at 4:15 p.m. to thank the veterans, followed by dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. For more information, please call Elaine Smith at 583-2213.

Knitting Guild

PARIS — Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet on Tuesday, November 6, at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in South Paris. The speaker will be Dee Farr teaching a craft. A reminder that mittens for Christmas for Kids are due on November 15.

Nature Club

OXFORD — The Twin Town Nature Club will meet Monday, November 5, at 6 p.m. at the Oxford Congregational Church for the 89th Founders Day potluck supper. Leroy Zutter will show some of the pictures taken on the recent foliage viewing trip to the Rangeley area. Visitors are welcome. For more information, call John Crumpton at 539-2902.
