Reprise of Clock Talk tonight

PARIS — By popular demand, Don Adamson will reprise his "Clock Talk" about the 1883 clock and the 1821 Revere Bell in the 1838 First Baptist Church "on the hill." First given in August, the event was a resounding success and word quickly spread in the surrounding community.

The Paris Cape Historical Society of South Paris is hosting this second evening of history and entertainment on Thursday, October 18 at 7 p.m.

Come and see the inner workings of this historic clock and take a virtual "climb" into the bell tower. Paris Hill resident Don Adamson has been winding and tending the clock for over 40 years, and his extensive experience and knowledge of every gear and movement is peppered with playful stories about climbing the tower every seven days.

You are invited to come sit in the sanctuary of this beautiful church and "feel" the power of the bell and even pull the cord yourself. Admission is free, but they are asking for donations to the Friends of the Church Fund which helps with maintenance of this important historic structure.

The Paris Hill Baptist Church is located on Paris Hill Road at the corner of Hannibal Hamlin Drive. Parking is plentiful and the church is handicapped accessible. For more information, contact Don Adamson at 743-5780.
