Bridge

WATERFORD — The Waterford Library sponsors an informal bridge group that meets upstairs at the library the fourth Monday of each month. The next meeting is on October 22 at 6:30 p.m.

No partner is necessary. Players with a basic knowledge of bridge are welcome. The goal is to have fun and learn from each other.

The group will not meet on the fourth Monday in December (24th); meetings will resume in January. For more information call 583-2729.

Socrates

WATERFORD — A Socrates Café gathering will be held at the Waterford Library on Monday, November 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

The topic for the November meeting will be “Which Is The Most Compelling Issue In This Election Cycle?” The moderator will be Wolfgang Duve. For more information, call 583-6957 or e-mail the library at wla@waterford.lib.me.us.

Card making

PARIS — The Seneca Club (Friends of Paris Public Library) is sponsoring a benefit card making class at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, at the First Congregational Church in Paris. The class fee is $25 which includes lunch, beverages, snacks and all materials to make six greeting cards. The class will be led by Kathryn Pulsifer, Independent Stampin' Up demonstrator.
