Society examines Chautauqua tonight

WATERFORD — Every summer the Chautauqua used to come to town and set up a tent on the Waterford Common. But Chautauqua was more than just a tent meeting.

Come to the September meeting of the Waterford Historical Society and learn about the town in New York and the artistic, educational and spiritual adventure that was launched there and that contributed to the history of Waterford.

The meeting will be upstairs in the Waterford Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 13. There will be a film and potluck refreshments. There is no charge and all are invited.
