GOP election offices opened
OXFORD/RUMFORD — The Oxford County Republican Committee proudly announces the opening of two General Election offices in Oxford County. One of those offices is located in the Town of Oxford, at 1548 Main Street, also known as Route 26.
The second office, and in a location that has never had one prior to now, is at 134 Congress Street in Rumford. The Oxford office coordinator is Delian Valeriani, who can be reached at delianval@hotmail.com, while the Rumford office coordinator is Candice Casey, who can be reached at candiceanne1961@yahoo.com.
On September 14, a grand opening will occur at the Oxford office that will include Maine State Senate President Kevin Raye, running in the Second Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
This event will occur between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. and it is hoped that all will attend this momentous "meet and greet." Refreshments will of course be available.
The following day, Secretary of State Charlie Summers, who is seeking the seat in the U.S. Senate currently held by Senator Olympia Snowe, will be attending the Oxford Fair during the morning hours and will then travel to the Rumford office to conduct a "meet and greet" at 1 p.m. during that open house.
All are more than welcome to attend one or both of these events.
The offices in Oxford and Rumford will have an abundance of lawn signs, posters, bumper stickers, position papers, etc., all that the general populace needs at their disposal to make an informed decision in the general election to be held on November 6.
Please feel free to stop in during the regularly scheduled hours which will be posted on the front doors of each site in the very near future. Ask questions of and about the candidates that will be representing you in Augusta or Washington.
There are 10 State Representative Districts that are located in Oxford County and two State Senatorial seats with candidates to be chosen this November, as well as that of a County Commissioner.
Also, a U.S. House of Representative District candidate, as well as a U.S. Senate candidate, will be elected this year and the committee wishes everyone to be apprised of the positions that they have and will share with and explain to you.
Not to be outdone, information on the presidential and vice-presidential candidates will be available, a different issue than what was occurring two years ago, 2010 not being a presidential election year.
The Oxford County Republican Committee feels that this is a critical year for our country and the general population must be well informed as to what the topics of conversation in Augusta and Washington are that will greatly impact you.
Please drop in and ask what questions you have of the coordinators and staff; they will be very open and honest with you.
Also, if time permits and it is hoped that it does, visit the booths that the Oxford County Republican Committee has at both the Oxford Fair from September 12 to 15, and the Fryeburg Fair from September 30 to October 7.
There will be an abundance of candidate information at each so hope to see you there as well.
