Democrats plan summer reception

BETHEL — The Oxford County Democrats will hold its annual Summer Reception at the Mill Hill Inn in Bethel on Sunday, August 26 at 5 p.m. with an array of Maine Democratic Party leaders and local candidates for legislative and county office in attendance.

The reception will feature ample time for socializing and a buffet meal as well as remarks by Maine Democratic Party Chair Ben Grant and others. Tickets ($25) will be sold at the door, but it would be appreciated if those planning to come would RSVP by calling 875-2116 or e-mailing cathyn@megalink.net.

Regional planning meetings to kick off the fall campaign will be held on Friday nights in Mexico, Fryeburg and Norway.

The Mexico meeting will be held on August 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Mexico Democratic Office, 55 Main St, and will be hosted by Senator John Patrick.

The Norway meeting will be held on August 31 at 5:30 p.m. at the Norway Democratic Office, 310 Main Street, hosted by Senate 13 candidate Dennise Whitley and County Treasurer Roy Gedat.

Both the Mexico and Norway meetings will feature pizza. RSVP to John Patrick at 364-7666 for the Mexico meeting and Cathy Newell at 875-2116 for the Norway meeting.

The Fryeburg meeting will be held at the home of Stefi and Peter Hastings, 384 Main Street, on September 7 at 5:30 p.m., with parking in the law office lot, and will feature an array of snacks.

Those attending the Fryeburg meeting are asked to RSVP to Stefi Hastings at 441-8035. All meetings will focus on the Obama/Biden campaign as well as the efforts of the Oxford County Democrats in the respective regions.
