Clock talk at Paris First Baptist

PARIS — On Thursday, August 23 at 7 p.m., the Paris Hill Historical Society will host a special evening presentation on the clock in the Paris Hill First Baptist Church tower.

Don Adamson has been winding and maintaining the clock for over 40 years and has a wealth of knowledge about its history, winding, care and maintenance.

Climbing into the tower every seven days, he knows every nook and cranny of the tower, the mechanics of the movements, and the ringing of the bell which peals out over the village every hour.

Come experience the sound and shaking of the bell while inside the sanctuary of the church, and see photos, old and new, of this precious piece of history on Paris Hill. The First Baptist Church is located on Paris Hill Road at the corner of Hannibal Hamlin Drive.

The public is welcome. Admission is free, but donations to the clock fund are appreciated. Contact Nancy Schlanser at 743-0359 for more information.
