Sundayafternoon concert planned

PARIS — Music For a Sunday Afternoon concert will take place at the South Paris First Universalist Church on Pine Street at 2 p.m. on November 18.

The musicians of the church and some of their musical friends will be offering the free public concert of light, recognizable music followed by refreshments. All are welcome.

Musicians performing include Donna Hurd, new organist/choir director on organ, piano, guitar and vocals; popular flautist Renee Wales; Fryeburg Fair hit vocalist Adrianna Twitchell, her up and coming vocalist sister Karleigh Twitchell and their grandfather Terry Twitchell on vocals and percussion; the rest of the choir with Jeanne and Berdina Whittemore; White Family Musicians consisting of the Rev. Anita White and son Christopher on vocals and guitar, and well known Oxford Hills guitarist Alan deSilva.

The program will include inspirational music, folk songs of the '50s and '60s, selections from "The Sound of Music" and "Dr. Zhivago," guitar music of Dan Fogelbert, Mason Williams and George Harrison of The Beatles.

Special recognition of the 100th anniversary of the Moller pipe organ will be a history of the organ prepared and spoken by Merton Lord. There will be a sing-along with musicians and audience and the grand finale will be a paen to the capabilities of the organ with Hurd playing the No. 60 "Toccata" by Flor Peeters.

The concert is free to all, but free will donations will be accepted at the door. Refreshments will follow the concert. The church is wheelchair accessible.
