Community Thanksgiving service scheduled
PARIS — The annual Community Thanksgiving Service will be Sunday, November 18, at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Paris Hill. This service is hosted by the clergy of the Oxford Hills Area Clergy Association.
This year, the two messages will be brought by new ministers to the area. The Rev. Ray Mitchell of the Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church in South Paris will be presenting one of the messages. The other will be given by The Rev. Mary Beth Caffey, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Paris.
The clergy will also perform as a choir for a presentation of "Great is Thy Faithfulness." This small ensemble is always a favorite for those attending who enjoy hearing their pastors sing rather than preach.
Other clergy members participating will include The Rev. Leslie Foley of the Second Congregational Church in Norway, The Rev. Don Mayberry of the First Congregational Church in South Paris, The Rev. Anne Stanley, retired rector of the Christ Episcopal Church in Norway, The Rev. Genise Stern, pastor of the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, The Rev. Eric Hanson of Hosanna New Testament Church in Oxford, and The Rev. Dallas Henry of the Hosanna Church in Oxford.
During the service an offering will be taken for the ministries to the local needy that the OHACA offers.
First Baptist Church of Paris is located at 500 Paris Hill Road and is on The Common. It is handicap accessible. For more information, please contact The Rev. Eric Hanson at 539-2295.
