Lovell church to offer 'Cooking Matters'

CENTER LOVELL — What would it be like in this tight economy to be able to go to the grocery store and know, for a fact, that you could make your dollars stretch to meet your family’s needs?

The Lovell United Church of Christ is here to help.

Each Tuesday evening from September 18 through October 30 (except October 2) the church will be offering the University of Maine’s Extension Program Cooking Matters free of charge to any adult who wishes to learn these valuable skills.

The meetings will take place in the church vestry and kitchen from 6 to 8 p.m. Child care will be provided, if needed. Please let them know when you register if you will need child care throughout the duration of the program.

Pre-registration is required. To register, or for more information, call Ellie at 542-3692 or e-mail her at stonedhill@yahoo.com.

In addition to the classes, the participants will receive the textbook, recipes and groceries to make the recipes, totally free of charge. They will also receive various cooking related gifts throughout the program.
