SENIOR SOCIAL Sponsored by Harrison Lions Club. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Community Room next to the fire station, Harrison. Free. HONEY BEES and Other Pollinators. 2 p.m. at Whitman Memorial Library, Bryant Pond. Program will be presented by SuzanneDunham. Suzanne and Brian Dunham have been beekeepers for 5 years. Suzanne's talk will describe the practice and mysteryof beekeeping, and the importance of honeybees and other pollinators to us and our environment. CHILI CHALLENGE Proceeds go to the Lovell Helping Friends Helping Friends Emergency Fund. 12-2 p.m. at the Center Lovell Fire Station. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for 6 and under. Residents, businesses and organizations throughout western ME and Mt. Washington Valley are invited to participate. There are two distinct categories: People’s Choice and Judges’ Favorites. If you lack skills to seek new employment and were laid off from your last job or are low income, you may wish to attend and find out how the CareerCenter can help. BUSINESS WORKSHOP Video Conference 5:30-7 p.m. at Norway Memorial Library, Main St. Program is free and pre-registration is required by 5 p.m. on Nov. 13 by calling the library at 743-5309, ext. 1 or stop by the information desk. “Reaching Out to Small Business Owners about Filing Requirements and Business Record Keeping for Federal Tax Purposes” will be presented by Shawn Savage via video conference technology. This program will give small business owners information about IRS resources to help them learn about their federal tax responsibilities and avoid common pitfalls. It will discuss some basic tips for business owners to avoid potential problems. There will also be a discussion on how easy it is to find federal tax information when you need it.

GASPING GOBBLER 5K Walk and Run Proceeds to benefit the Lovell Rec. Dept. 10 a.m. at the Lovell Athletic Fields, Smarts Hill Rd. Cost is $12 if you pre-register by Nov. 14, and $15 from Nov. 15 to race day. Family rate of $30 is for three members and $6 for each additional participant Course consists of three wheel-measured loops around the grass and dirt perimeter of the athletic complex and simulates many school cross-country courses and is very spectator friendly. FINNISH-AMERICAN Heritage Society of Maine 2 p.m. meeting at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St., W. Paris. Scott Andrews of the Maine Ski Museum will present the program which will income a vintage film called "From Tree to Ski," which features ski making at the Paris Manufacturing Company. It shows the process from unloading logs to the finished product. He will also speak about the contributions of Finns, Swedes and Norwegians to skiing in Maine. Coffee social will follow. Waterford residents will gather to watch 2 films, one in opposition to tar sands and one in support of tar sands. A community conversation and questions and answer session will follow.

Supper includes meatloaf, mashed potatoes, veggies, macaroni and cheese, salads, rolls and homemade desserts. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.
