Food pantry gets donation

BUCKFIELD — Northeast Bank recently announced a donation of $1,000 to the Buckfield Food Pantry, to go toward much needed food and supplies. In addition, Lewiston-based Neokraft Signs donated a new sign so that clients of the pantry will know when it is open.

Northeast Bank’s Employee Volunteer program, which allows each employee to volunteer in the community up to two days per year, has enabled each employee at the Buckfield Branch to contribute about 36 hours annually to the food pantry, totaling over 140 hours.

“We cannot thank Northeast Bank and Neokraft Signs enough for their generous donations,” said Theresa Deane, coordinator of the Buckfield Food Pantry. “Before we received our new sign, we were using a cardboard square, lettered with black marker.”

For those who would like to provide support, the food pantry is in need of both monetary and food donations. For more information, please call Theresa Deane at 336-2230.
