NORWAY — Timothy A. Churchill, president and CEO of Western Maine Health is pleased to announce Western Maine Pediatrics has been awarded recognition by the Maine State Immunization Program for their success in vaccinating patients.

WMP was recognized as one of 56 practices in the state of Maine to achieve an up-to-date rate of at least 90% for children ages 24 – 35 months for the four DTaP, three Polio, one MMR, three HIB, three HepB, one Varicella, four PCV immunization series.

Western Maine Pediatrics achieved an immunization coverage rate of 93%. This is part of the Healthy Maine Project to bring children up to age two up to date on their immunizations.

Karen Gurney, Practice Manager states, “It is really an honor for Western Maine Pediatrics to be recognized for their success in educating families about the benefits of immunizations. This is a commendation to the hard work of all the staff to put the plan of education into action.”
