Gammon earns certification

NORWAY — Timothy A. Churchill, president and CEO of Western Maine Health, is pleased to announce that Leslie Gammon, director of Plant Operations at SMH, has earned designation as a Certified ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel.

The ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel is a national credential that distinguishes an individual as being among the elite in the critical field of maintenance, inspection, and testing of medical gas systems.

To earn the ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel Certificate, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that incorporate a blend of professional experience and education, agree to adhere to the requirements of ASSE Series 6000 Professional Qualifications Standards, based on code requirements identified in the NFPA 99 Standards for Health Care Facilities, 2005 edition, and pass the ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel Certification Exam.

The ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel Certification Exam assesses knowledge required by a competent individual in the areas of medical gas systems, applications, precautions, troubleshooting, routine maintenance, inspection and testing. Leslie completed the ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel Certification Exam with a score of 100%.

The ASSE 600 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel Certification Program supports the community of healthcare maintenance professionals and is designed to provide qualified individuals, who are responsible for the proper inspection, testing, and maintenance of medical gas systems and vacuum systems with a certification that illustrates these skills.
