Self employment workshop offered

WILTON — A free three-hour workshop for anyone interested in starting a business is being offered by Women, Work & Community on Thursday, January 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Wilton CareerCenter. Snow date will be January 17.

This introductory workshop will walk you through the pros and cons of owning your own business, show you how to get started, point out the major elements of a business plan, introduce the many resources available in the Franklin County area and help you decide whether self employment is the right choice for you! Pre-registration is required.

Women, Work, and Community is a statewide nonprofit organization committed to improving the economic lives of Maine women and their families. The organization works with individuals "where they are" and provides them with support, guidance and the tools they need to take the next steps toward a more promising future.

Women, Work, and Community provides individual assistance and group training in building careers, starting and growing businesses, planning for financial security and becoming community leaders.
