Casino donates emergency fuel

OXFORD COUNTY — United Way of Oxford County is pleased to accept a $10,000 donation from Oxford Casino. Half of this gift is earmarked for emergency fuel assistance for Oxford County families during the impending cold season. Oxford Casino’s gift is the founding donation for United Way of Oxford County’s Keep ME Warm fund.

United Way predicts that Oxford Casino’s gift will help dozens of area residents stay warm amid rising fuel costs and seasonably cold temperatures. The funds will be dispensed in cooperation with Community Concepts’ emergency heat fund.

United Way Executive Director Dennis Gray said, “Oxford Casino’s sizeable gift at this time of year is going to go a long way in keeping many individuals and families warm who otherwise may be at risk.”

Other organizations and individuals wishing to help with fuel assistance for Oxford County families can send donations to the United Way of Oxford County, PO Box 291, South Paris, ME 04281. Donors should indicated that their gift be used for fuel assistance.
