The Chamber Beat
Many, many thanks to everyone who participated and was involved in organizing and volunteering for our 37th Annual Christmas Parade and our 2nd Annual Festival of Trees.
Mike Godin and Christine Gillespie chaired the Festival of Trees Committee and did an outstanding job and our Executive Assistant, Jennifer Boenig, chaired the parade committee and was tremendously organized from start to finish.
The parade was our largest ever with over 50 floats plus the extraordinary precision rifle team, the Silver Dolphins; Wreaths Across America; at least a dozen fire and rescue trucks and vehicles from all of our towns that we umbrella and, of course, Saint Nicholas himself. Literally thousands of spectators came to see Maine’s largest Christmas parade. Thank you.
And the Festival of Trees was equally spectacular with 35 beautifully decorated trees at Four Seasons Function Center in South Paris and because of the generosity of everyone who came and bid on these wonderful trees, the Chamber was able to write a significant check to our charity of choice, Rightstart and Christmas for Kids & Teens.
And thank you to all of the singing groups who came and entertained everyone who came to view the trees.
Nominations
The Chamber is all about promoting the community and the people who make it a success. So we are now taking nominations for our annual awards, which are given out each year at the annual dinner. They are Business Of The Year; Community Service Award; The Rising Star Award; and Employee Of The Year.
For specific requirements and nomination forms go to our website at www.oxfordhillsmaine.com or call the office.
As always, the Chamber is on top of business throughout the Oxford Hills – are you a Chamber Member yet? It’s easy, just call us at the office and speak with Jennifer or me and we’ll sign you up. I'll see you next week.
