I wanted to take a moment to welcome three new members to the Chamber. David Heidrich and Cynthia Bryant have re-opened the Christmas Barn Gift Shop & Home Bakery on Route 26 in Oxford, just in time for the holidays. You can reach David and Cynthia by going to www.facebook.com/ChristmasBarnMaine

Kathy Grow has opened Relax, Rejuvinate, Restore Massage at 138 Main Street in South Paris. They also offer on site massage. You can reach Kathy online at www.amtamembers.com/kathykinggrow.

And welcome to the Second Congregational Church, UCC at 205 Main Street in Norway. The Reverend Leslie Foley is the Pastor and you can connect with the Second Congregational Church at www.seconch.com

The Chamber just keeps growing and growing. Have you joined yet?

BAH

The next Business After Hours is a highlight of the holiday season when the Chamber opens the second annual Festival of Trees at Four Seasons Function Center on Main Street in South Paris with our annual holiday open house from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 23.

Come and enjoy wonderful food and refreshments donated by our Chamber members along with great door prizes, music by the fabulous Dawson Hill and the chance to be the first to see and bid on our spectacular Christmas trees kicking off three days of the Festival of Trees and the annual Christmas parade weekend.

Everyone is welcome and of course our annual holiday open house is free.

Workshop

Don’t forget that SCORE and the Chamber are bringing Rich Brooks from Flyte New Media back to our area to talk about Mobile Marketing and how Facebook really works for small business.

In this workshop, Rich Brooks of Flyte New Media, will give you a lay of the mobile landscape and show you how to make sense of it all. The workshop is taking place at the Norway Town Office Community Room on Tuesday, November 13 from 9 to 11 a.m. and the cost is $25 but it is free to Chamber of Commerce members.

You can register online through SCORE or call the SCORE office at 743-0499 or the Chamber office at 743-2281. Believe me, you’ll want to be a part of this workshop with Rich. He is informative, entertaining and on the cutting edge of the social media revolution

Parade, Festival

And finally the 37th annual Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, the largest in the state, and the second annual Festival Of Trees are just over two weeks away.

Have you registered your float and/or your tree yet? There’s still time. We want you in the parade and we want you to bring a tree to the Festival of Trees.

Get all the information by going online at www.oxfordhillsmaine.com or call the office and speak with Jennifer at 743-2281.

Chamber awards

The Chamber is all about promoting the community and the people who make it a success. So we are now taking nominations for our annual awards, which are given out each year at the annual dinner.

They are Business Of The Year; Community Service Award; The Rising Star Award; and Employee Of The Year.

For specific requirements and nomination forms go to our website at www.oxfordhillsmaine.com or call the office.

As always, the Chamber is on top of business throughout the Oxford Hills – are you a Chamber Member yet? It’s easy, just call us at the office and speak with Jennifer or myself and we’ll sign you up. I'll see you next week.
