Lee hired at WMU center

PARIS — Christine Lee has recently been hired as an administrative assistant at the Western Maine University and Community College Center. In this full time position, Christine is responsible for managing all front office activities, testing for course placement, pre-admission advising of potential students and supervising work-study students.

Before being hired to the full time position, Christine had been a student at the center for six years as a non-traditional student. She graduated in May 2012 with her Bachelor of Science in Mental Health and Human Services with a 3.6 GPA. In addition, she also holds certificates in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation, Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community, and Child and Youth Care Practitioner.

During her tenure as a student at the center, she worked as a math teacher’s assistant, a senior peer mentor and a math tutor for university students, as well as a math tutor for Goodwill Industries Vocational Rehabilitation program.

Volunteering has been a big part of Christine’s life. She is a foster parent for animals at the Responsible Pet Care shelter, is a State of Maine wildlife rescue and rehabilitator, a math tutor for Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education, a math tutor for Central Maine Community College students, and acting secretary for Impaired Drivers Awareness of Oxford Hills.
