Androscoggin Bank welcomes two

LEWISTON — The Board of Directors of Androscoggin Bank is pleased to announce that two well-known Maine business leaders have joined the Androscoggin Bank Board of Directors. Wendy I. Bean, C.P.A. and Jean E. Mattimore began their service on September 11.

Wendy I. Bean is a C.P.A. practicing in Manchester, where she specializes in the taxation of individuals, trusts and estates. She has had a career in tax and trust management in Maine and New Hampshire and has served in a variety of community service and volunteer roles, including Maine Tax Forum – Representing Thomas College with the IRS and State of Maine; the Thomas College Alumni Council; the Board of Directors and Chair of the Financial Resources Committee, United Way of York County; Maine State Planning Office - Retirement Industry Advisory Council; and Treasurer, Citizens for Portland Baseball, Portland, ME. She is a graduate of Thomas College.

Jean E. Mattimore is a resident of Portland and was most recently the Executive Director, Center for Career Development for the Maine Community College System. She has had a career in insurance, education and state government – serving as the Commissioner of Finance for the State of Maine from 1987-1989. She also currently serves on the board of trustees for the Maine Maritime Academy.

Her education includes Doctor of Education, Nova Southeastern University; Masters in Business Administration, Executive M.B.A. Program, Northeastern University; Master of Arts in English Literature, and Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with Distinction, Honors Program, Simmons College.

Her experience on boards, commissions and in community organizations also includes Board of Visitors, University of Southern Maine; Governor’s Task Force on PreK-16 Education; Foundation for Blood Research Board, Treasurer; YWCA Board of Directors, Co Chair, Finance Committee; Maine State Government Manager’s Mentoring Program (Mentor); World Affairs Council of Maine Board; International Women’s Forum, Maine Chapter Member; Maine Technology Institute Board, Treasurer; Maine Commission on Community Service; United Way of Greater Portland, Vice President - Allocations, VP - Volunteer Development; Executive Committee and the Maine Audubon Society Board.
