Career planning for new economy offered

LEWISTON — Join this 24-hour class to examine your work values and interests, identify your transferable skills, and explore your earning potential. Those attending will learn about local projected growth industries and identify the skills, education, and training needed to build their careers. At the end of the class participants will have a plan to achieve their career goals. Assistance with resume building and job seeking will also be provided. Two follow-up sessions are scheduled to provide on-going networking and support.

Women, Work, and Community will be offering this free training, "Creating Your Future," in Lewiston from 9 a.m.-12 noon on Mondays and Thursdays starting July 30 and ending August 23 at USM -LAC in Lewiston. There will be an orientation on Thursday, July 26 from 9-11 a.m. Class dates are July 30 and August 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20 and 23.

If you are receiving unemployment insurance, this class has been pre-approved by the UI Commission and exempts training participants from a job search during the class.
