NRBQ coming to Eastman Performing Arts Center

FRYEBURG — NRBQ will perform at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center on Friday, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $22.50 for adults, $20 for seniors (65+) and $10 for students (18-) and may be purchased at the Box Office by calling 935-9232 or online at www.fryeburgacademy.org/pac.

Group discounts are available to parties of 10 or more. The theater is located at 18 Bradley Street on the campus of Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg. Parking is free.

Terry Adams, visionary, driving force and “untamed genius of the keyboards” for NRBQ since its inception more than 40 years ago, reignited the legendary Quartet with the addition of Scott Ligon on guitar and vocals, Conrad Choucroun on drums and vocals, and newest member Casey McDonough on bass and vocals.

NRBQ followed up their critically-acclaimed 2011 release "Keep This Love Goin’" with a powerful new live CD, "We Travel The Spaceways" released in May of this year. There’s a brand new 45 too, just released in October- “Everybody Say Yeah!” b/w “Hornin’ In” released on Euclid Records.

The dozen songs on "We Travel the Spaceways," recorded last spring, feature everything that is loved about NRBQ – energy, musicianship, playfulness, swing, and a brilliant mix of rock, jazz, pop, and who-knows-what.

There are originals spanning NRBQ’s 40-plus-year career, Q-takes on Thelonious Monk and Piano Red and, as always, unexpected arrangements of tunes you think you may have heard before but aren’t sure where.

The title song, composed by Sun Ra, has been in NRBQ’s repertoire since the late '60s, but has never been released on an NRBQ album until now.
