NORWAY — Local Poet Greg Zemlansky has published a new children's book, “A Happy Clam Behind the Dam,” which is on shelves at various locations.

“I can't stop writing,” he says.

South Paris resident Zemlansky, better known as Greg the Poet, has self-published a long list of children's books which includes “The White Goldfish,” “The Littlest Raindrop,”  “Bird Talk,” “The Adventures of Milky," "The Turkey That Got Away" and others.

“There is a moral story behind each book that concerns life,” says Zemlanksy, who discovered his writing talent at the age of eight. He even thinks “the adults would get a kick out of them, too.”

“A Happy Clam Behind a Dam” is a series of 10 books for young children. According to Zemlansky, each story has a different moral behind it, and each of his poetry books encompasses a different style.

“They make a good activity and coloring book,” he says of his books. "They are easy to read,” he adds.

He is one of the poetry ambassadors of the Oxford Hills region, he says, as well as the morning disc jockey on WOXO Radio in Norway.

He even reads some of the poem's during the morning show on Fridays around 7:15 a.m., he says.

His poetry has appeared in local newspapers.

He has donated his books and poems to libraries in Norway, South Paris, Auburn and Lewiston.
