Open call for artists issued

NORWAY — In an effort to provide continuing broad access to exhibit opportunities for all artists in Maine, Frost Farm Gallery is excited to announce the Western Maine Paper Project.

The Paper Project is an opportunity for any artist who is a resident of Maine to show their work in a professional gallery setting. Artists may submit up to 10 works in a variety of mediums on paper for this non-juried show, opening on October 5, from 5-8 p.m.

Frost Farm Gallery, located at 272 Pikes Hill in Norway, has been exhibiting the work of Maine artists in solo shows since 2007. Gallery owners Bruce and Adrienne Little are expanding their usual solo show format to include artists of all ages in a multi-artist exhibit that will showcase unframed flat works on paper.

Examples of eligible works include photography, watercolor, graphite, serigraph, encaustic and mixed media. Unlike traditional shows, while works may be matted, no artwork in the exhibit will be framed in an effort to keep artists' costs at an absolute minimum. Submission deadline is Tuesday, October 2.

Full details on the Western Maine Paper Project can be found on the gallery's website, www.FrostFarmGallery.com.
