First Friday exhibit with Sam Little
NORWAY — Frost Farm Gallery will hold a First Friday reception, meet and greet the artist on Friday, September 7 from 5-8 p.m. at the gallery located in the historic David W. Frost farm, 272 Pikes Hill in Norway. The exhibit will feature original works in a show titled "A Native Tale," by photographer Sam Little.
Sam Little, magician of the lens, has been capturing the essence of view since childhood. His passion for life is transformed and translated through the visual scope of just beyond the lens.
He continues to search for new ways to contain the wildness of beauty within a frame, providing a visual recording of the stillness of time. Sam explores his art form from a perspective firmly rooted in the eye of the self. “What would I want to see if I wasn’t there” is his driving question. His exploration of life and beauty is an eclectic quilt of the fabric of time.
Those attending the opening will also enjoy the musical talent of Brad Hooper. Brad is a Maine singer/songwriter whose performances lean toward the blues, but draw on a full spectrum of genres and time periods. He is compared to the likes of John Prine, Arlo Guthrie and Ry Cooder.
The opening is free and open to the public. The exhibit and sale will continue at Frost Farm Gallery through Saturday, September 29. The September First Friday art opening at Frost Farm Gallery is in conjunction with the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center and the McLaughlin Garden. For more information call the gallery at 743-8041.
