Works of Gail Rein to be on display

NORWAY — Paintings by Gail Rein will be on display at the Matolcsy Gallery in Norway for the month of September. The show, entitled “Points of View,” will host an opening event from 5-7 p.m. on September 7.

Gail has won best of show in both the Norway Sidewalk Show and the Western Maine Juried show this year. This marks her return to the world of art after a two-decade absence. Gail states that her enthusiasm is at an all-time high and she is excited to share her changing vision of the “artist’s eye."

In her “prior life” as a professional artist, she also began her debut at the Matolcsy Gallery. She then went on to win best of show at Boston City Hall and become represented by the two most prominent New England portrait galleries: Portraits, Inc in NYC, and Portraits North, in Boston.

Her paintings from that time period now hang in the circuit court building in Washington, DC, Dartmouth College, in CEO offices, and private homes. She hopes once again to share her work with a wider audience, utilizing a more matured understanding of her craft and an excitement for the new possibilities this opens up.

“I’m giving myself permission to be freer in my expression and truer to my personal way of seeing.”

Also exhibiting in the same show will be Irina Kahn, president of the Western Maine Art Group, and Suzanne Hardy. Their “points of view” are flowers and landscapes, respectively.
