Thank you TLEA

To the Editor:

I’m Logan and I just got back from a three-day, two-night trip to Schoodic Point in Acadia National Park. I’m writing to thank the TLEA for sponsoring this trip. All of Oxford Elementary sixth grade was able to go. We did a lot of cool hands-on things like using a GPS and touching a sea creature in the tide pools.

The first night we went on a night hike with no flashlights. Only the ranger and chaperone had them and they were red so it doesn't mess up your night vision. Then we got handed a rock and you have to know what it felt like because the ranger took it back and then passed them out again and you kept yours but passed other people’s down.

The second night we went to a campfire and sang songs. It was really interesting and one ranger told us old Native American stories. One story was that every year when flowers die, they go into a rainbow.

We got to do a lot of things we can’t do in a classroom. It was my favorite trip ever so thank you TLEA for sponsoring us.
