Glad its over!

To the Editor:

Hooray, hooray, the elections are finally over and I guess I’m just one of the thousands of people who are glad that they are. For the last several weeks they have dominated the TV, radio stations and all of the newspapers with their political ads. I realize that all of the TV and radio stations and newspapers reap a harvest from all of this, but the average citizen gets very tired of it.

They are all very anxious to put up all of the signs at every intersection on our highways but are in no hurry to take them down after election day. Many times I have noticed it’s the snowplows that knock them down and cover them up. I’ve been told that most of the jobs that are won by politicians pay only a fraction of what it costs to be elected. I think that some of the politicians have a lot of friends with money so their position pays a lot more than the average person knows about.

Well, I’ve expressed my opinion about the elections and used one of my many freedoms in this wonderful county of ours — freedom of speech — and I guess it is far better than living under a dictatorship when one person tells everyone what to do.
