Halloween Fest draws hundreds

To the Editor:

This year's Norway Halloween Fest was enjoyed by more than 1200 visitors thanks to the work of Norway Downtown's Promotion Committee Co-Chairs, Katie Letourneau, Vice President and Branch Manager of Norway Savings Bank, and Deb Partridge, Director of Norway's Parks and Recreation. The Norway Memorial Library, the Norway Police Department and the Norway Fire Department all contributed to the success of the day as did more than 50 businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Thanks goes to them all, who welcomed enthusiastically and creatively the "trick or treaters" to Norway's Main Street. Their hospitality and efforts were key factors for the event's success.

Performers worked their magic during the afternoon. Rijah Newell's Trash to Art puppets entertained at the Town Square and Naveah danced on the library lawn. Thanks goes to them for sharing their arts with the community.

Crestholm Farms contributed the traditional corn stalks to decorate telephone poles and Norway Downtown funded the scarecrow adornments.

The Advertiser Democrat proved the festive nature of the day by publishing the photographs of children in their costumes. Four pages of Halloween bliss. Thank you.
