Thank you teachers ...

To the Editor:

This is a letter of appreciation to all of those involved in the education of the youth of Maine and particularly to those in the district which was responsible for the education of our three children: Justin, Laura and Daniel Rand.

Our youngest child will be another proud graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in a few days. There are amazing individuals there and at the Middle School as well as at Harrison Elementary: such as the lunch ladies, the bus drivers, the special education instructors, the custodians, guidance, office, classroom teachers, health providers and countless volunteers.

Without my children here to supervise the listing of their many special teachers the ones who immediately pop into my mind are those such as Mrs. Carr, Mr. Bell, Mr. Burn(s), Mr. Byrne, Mr. Toohey, Mr. Slicer, Mrs. Cifelli, Mrs. Smith, Mr. Martin, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Grover, Mr. Knightly, Mr. Little, Mr. Roy, Mrs. Archer, Mr. and Mrs. Craib, Mrs. Wentworth, Mr. Gray, Mrs. MacClean, Mr. Butcher, Mr. Merrill, Mr. Doughty, Ms. Caros, Ms. Cribby, Mr. Otterson and Mr. Blanchard.

Lastly we thank the family of Mrs. LaBay who was the best third grade teacher in the world!

It is impossible to list everyone ... enough to conclude this with a heartfelt thank you and it is truly a community that supports the students which makes this district one to be cherished in the memories of its students. Your worth far exceeds any salaries that you so justly earn as what you all give cannot be measured or fully compensated for though we do ask you to realize that the legacy that you have left is priceless.

Thank-you from the family of the three Rand students from Harrison who are proud alumnae of OHCHS.
