Blood drive kudos

To the Editor:

I would like to thank Paul Flannigan for putting together a memorial blood drive in memory of my husband, Ken Verrill, who passed away in July from a heart attack. This blood drive was such a success. Also I would like to thank the Oxford Lodge for their help and support. So many of you came out and gave blood. The ones who couldn't passed the word along to make this the success that it was. Their goal was 46 pints of blood they could use; the ending total was 61.

Thank you to the Advertiser and the Lewiston Daily Sun for the ad. Also to Karen Rogers, Allen Waterhouse and Travis Verrill who hung up all the posters. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the great support of this event. If we saved even one life with all of this, it is so worth every minute. You all have made a difference. To Ariel Garber and Michaela Frechette from the high school, thank you for working the canteen the whole shift. It is nice to have young people get involved. So to all of you who touched this blood drive one way or another, thank you so very much. We did have a few who gave blood for the first time. Thank you for picking this blood drive to donate. This all means more than you will ever know.

Again thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is so nice to know my husband still keeps on giving.
