Pick up Norway

To the Editor:

On the eve of a major snowstorm I wonder what effect this or other storms may have on our efforts to pick up Norway in the next few days. With that in mind it would seem that the best time for our project is April 16.

It would be nice to hear from groups like Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions clubs that they each have a few members who would give an hour or two to pick up on the street or road where they live.

My own street and lawn have a flattened beer can, two paper cups, a napkin and a newspaper flyer from a local business.

So far, there has been one call from a group at Oxford Hills Middle School. Their teacher says they will do Cottage Street.

If you agree to do a street or road or a part of one, please sign up at the Advertiser-Democrat office or the Norway Town Office by April 8.

We will have plastic bags for April. 16.

Watch next week for locations, probably at the park next to the Norway Savings Bank.
