Not the same person

To the Editor:

I am writing in regards to the "Letter to the Editor" in your newspaper this last Thursday from Christopher Morgan. My name is Dayle M. Burnell, and I have a son named Christopher James Morgan. He is 33 years old and has one daughter who is six years old. He has been fighting the disease of drug addiction for over 17 years. He is still having a very difficult time with this and I pray that he will get the help that he needs, and that he will also have the strength to help himself. I know that a person with this problem has to do this on his own and that he has to want to do this to get better.

I just wanted to let the public know that the letter written by the other Christopher Morgan is not my son, because many people have contacted me and my daughter, who is a senior this year at OHCHS, thinking that this letter was written by her brother, while in fact, it is almost the same story except for a few minor differences. I need to have this clarified because of the reaction we are getting from so many people in the community. I so wish that this was the story of my son Christopher, but he has not gotten to that point in his life yet. Maybe someday soon he will be the Christopher Morgan writing a similar letter to the Editor. All I can do is pray and maybe that someday will come soon.
