A community coming together

To the Editor:

It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing with tragic news to ALDS. Many of you have heard of the horrible fire in Lisbon Falls recently that took the lives of two sweet young girls. The older daughter, Natalie, was one of our ballet students on Wednesdays. We are terribly saddened at this event and would like to ask our ALDS family to rally around them in prayer and support.

The Lisbon community is holding a bottle drive at Lisbon HS on Saturday the 12th from 9-11 a.m. If anyone has donations after that time, they are welcome to drop them at the studio at Midtown Plaza. Ages and sizes for clothing for family members are 12-month-old girl - size 12-18 mo.; three-year-old boy - average size; five-year-old boy - average size, shoe size 2; 16-year-old boy - six-foot, 30-in waist and Mom - size 14, shoe size 9/10. Items can be dropped off at the studio and I will get them to the appropriate place. I'm sure dept. store gift cards or cash would be helpful as well. From personal experience after a house fire, it's hard to know what you need at this stage, let alone the grave loss of loved ones.

Above all, the most valuable gift is prayer. Pray for peace, understanding and healing. Pray for all the children of our community and for their teachers.

Thank you,
