ATV traffic on South Paris roads

To the Editor:

We wish to express our thanks for the recent vote by the South Paris Board of Selectmen to deny permission for ATV travel on the East Oxford Road and Parsons Road. This was an important and courageous decision made in the face of strong opposition by ATV enthusiasts and by some others. We are very thankful that we will no longer have to endure the noise and aggravation of the heavy ATV traffic that formerly passed close by our house at 257 Parsons Road. We are also grateful that we no longer need to be concerned by the potential dangers posed to automobile drivers by this ATV traffic. It’s good to know that “quality of life” issues still matter in South Paris.
