Thank you for 911 response

To the Editor:

We’d like to express our gratitude for the response to our 911 call on Thursday December 30, 2010. Four Game Wardens, including a K-9 handler, Tony, Mark, Dave and Jeremy and Bob Baribeau, a climber with Mahoosuc Mountain Rescue, came to aid our son Ian and our dog “Chico” who were stuck on a ledge on the ridge above Indian Pond in Greenwood.

All the responders including the 911 operators exhibited the confidence of professionals which citizens in need of help appreciate. Their training and equipment led to the successful rescue of our son and dog without further injury. Agencies such as the Mahoosuc Mountain Rescue which are nonprofit, volunteer organizations are as valuable an asset as any other emergency services.

Our family is indebted to Bob, Tony, Mark, Dave and Jeremy and their efforts will be recognized and supported by us.
