Fire destroys home

TOTAL LOSS — Fire crews battle cold temperatures to put out a fire at 121 Lower Sumner Hill Road, the home of Terrance Dunham and his family, after 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. The two-and-a-half story structure's basement was fully involved by the time Sumner's Fire 1 arrived on the scene, and emergency personnel say that the older home burned "really quickly." Fire departments from Sumner, Canton, Buckfield, Peru, Woodstock, and West Paris were on hand, as well as Tri Town and Pace ambulance services. No one was reported hurt, but the home was destroyed. Crews were still at the scene at press time. The state fire marshall has been called in to investigate.
