Dog tracking leads to apprehension
PARIS — Joseph Allen Denbow Jr., 19, of Paris was arrested on February 10 and charged on five counts including Theft by Unauthorized Use of Property and Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol.
Paris Police Officer Raymond Paar was responding to a report of a stolen vehicle at 10 Maple Street in Paris when he was approached by Denbow. According to Paar, Denbow was out of breath, covered in snow, and clearly intoxicated.
The stolen vehicle was soon found crashed into a snow bank, having incurred $3,000 in damages. Paar responded, leaving Denbow with Officer Holli Pullen.
Maine State Trooper Adam Fillebrown also responded to the crash site with a K9 unit to track. The track led back to 10 Maple Street and directly to Denbow, who was arrested, taken into custody and charged with Violation of Conditions of Release, Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, Theft by Unauthorized Use of Property, Operating After License Suspension, and for Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident.
