Tent 19 holds December meeting

NORWAY — Hannah F. Richardson Tent 19, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865, met at the home of Marilyn Jones in Norway, on December 8, for a regular meeting and give exchange preceded by a chowder supper.

Dorothy Morency was installed as secretary and Loretta Andrews was installed as guard. Installing officer was Past National President Gail Butterfield.

The charter was draped for two past national presidents, Nina Ninas and Marguerite Lewis.

A DUV gold charm was presented to Gail Butterfield in appreciation of her years as a member of Tent 19.

It was reported that Treasurer Kim Hansen was in the hospital. Marilyn, Dayle, Deanna and Brenda had been to visit her.

Those from Tent 19 who wrapped gifts at the Western Maine Veterans Home recently were June, Brenda, Lynn, April and Marilyn. Thank you notes were read from the shut-ins who received Thanksgiving baskets.

Christmas stocking were filled for the shut-ins.

The mystery prize was won by Loretta Andrews.

Dues are due in December.

The next meeting will be February 23, at the same location.
