Otisfield equestrians receive year end awards

LEWISTON - The 75th annual Maine Horse Association awards banquet was held November 20 at the Ramada Inn Conference Center in Lewiston. Five riders from Avalon Meadows Equestrian Center, located in Otisfield, were recipients of several year end awards in the hunt seat divisions. Ayla Greywolfe, riding Pendragon, was champion of the Easy Does It and Schooling Hunter divisions. Kayla Cushman, riding Samphony, was champion in Hunt Seat Equitation under 18, Children's Hunter, and the Hunter Hack divisions. Vicki Lowell, riding Court n' Spark, placed third in Children's Hunter and fourth in Hunt Seat Equitation under 18. Sidney Beecy, riding Pi R Squared, placed fourth in Children's Hunter. Emily Minigell, riding Moonshine, was champion in Special Hunter and reserve champion in Hunter Hack. Emily was also presented with the Gray Trophy which is given to the horse/pony earning the most points in any open division. These 2010 MHA champions and their horses are trained by Sarah Shraiberg, owner of Avalon Meadows.
