NORWAY — Community Concepts announces that Grover Gundrilling of Norway is their Community Concepts Big Brothers Big Sisters Program Corporate Sponsor of the Year for 2011. Grover Gundrilling contributed $3,500 to the program and its Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser, held in April of this year.

Suzanne Grover represented Grover Gundrilling at a recent luncheon honoring Grover Gun drilling's accomplishment. Joan Churchill, Community Concepts’ director of development, said that Grover Gundrilling was the largest corporate sponsor of the Oxford County Big Brothers Big Sisters program this year. Churchill stated, “Grover Gundrilling has been a long term supporter of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in the Oxford Hills and this company illustrates how local companies can change the lives of children and youth.”

Megan Boucher is a Big Sister at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and attended the luncheon to represent some of the Oxford Hills youth that benefit from the program. Boucher, a Senior, is in her third year as a Big Sister. Boucher described how gratifying it is to be a Big Sister and watch her Little Sister grow and change from being a fifth grader to a middle school student. She is amazed at how her Little Sister has grown, and how responsible, smart and caring she is. Boucher plans to be a nurse-midwife and will go on to college next fall. She already has pangs when she thinks of leaving her Little Sister. Churchill reminds her that the Big Brothers Big Sisters program has a process for helping Little Brothers and Sisters and their Big counterparts process through the transitions that life as a young person provides.
