HARRISON — Harrison Village Library has received a grant for new children’s books from The Libri Foundation of Eugene, OR, and will celebrate with a Pajama Storytime on Saturday, March 26 from 10 a.m.-12 noon. The Libri Foundation puts books into rural libraries throughout the United States through its “Books for Children” matching grants; the Foundation matches on a 2-to-1 ratio the money raised by local sponsors. The Friends of Harrison Village Library raised the initial amount required for the grant. The library also is the recipient of an additional grant especially for math and science books. In all, the library has received 80 new books with a total retail value of over $1,400.
Children of all ages are invited to come in their pj’s to hear the new books read by special guest readers at the Pajama Storytime. Friends of the Library, members of the Board of Trustees, teachers and other community members will be on hand to read picture books in the main children’s room and chapter books for older readers in the meeting room. Refreshments will be served. For more information, please contact the library at 583-2970.
