SOUTH PARIS — “Team Pink We Care” was the brainchild of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School seniors Joline Waite and Taylor Black. Their Senior Project, a major fundraiser dedicated to breast cancer awareness, raised more than $1,500 for Central Maine Medical Center’s Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center. The seniors collected product donations from more than 75 Oxford Hills area businesses for the silent auction. The fundraiser event also included a bake sale, featuring pink ribbon cookies and a 50/50 raffle. The South Paris Fire Station, where the event was held, was decorated with pink flowers, pink tablecloths and pink balloon centerpieces. Joline and Taylor also designed the Team Pink t-shirts and lapel pins that were worn by the volunteers at the fundraiser. They both have expressed interest in pursuing health care as a career. Great work, Joline and Taylor.
