Master Gardener course being offered

SOUTH PARIS - The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is once again offering the very popular Master Gardener Volunteer training in 2011. “The Master Gardener course is a fun way for gardeners to learn the science of gardening and then use that knowledge to grow and donate food to the community,” says Barbara Murphy, Extension Educator and coordinator of the training. The training will focus on ornamental horticulture – landscape design, trees and shrubs, annuals and perennials as well as botany, soil science and pest management. The course will be offered at the Extension office on Thursday evenings from 5:30-9 p.m. starting February 3. Class size is limited. For an application, please call the Extension office at 1-800-287-1482 or 743-6329.
