'Barnstorming' comes without warning

NORWAY — December 17 will be the 107th anniversary of the first flight at Kitty Hawk by the Wright Brothers. It will also be the arrival of Uncle Tom Merriam's second children's book called “Barnstorming,” a very colorfully illustrated story about a biplane that flies over, around, and upside down. Uncle Tom will be presenting and signing his new book along with his first book, "Yak Attack," on Saturday, December 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Books-N-Things, 430 Main St. in Norway. This first edition hardcover book will become an American children's classic, and make a great gift for young children or the young at heart.

Uncle Tom is a Maine native from Lovell whose murals and art adorn buildings, walls and galleries throughout the state. He is the creator of the Maine Moose license plate. You can view some of his art at www.bearinthebriers.com.
