Solstice celebration, fundraiser set in Denmark

DENMARK — Celebrate the amazing community, the holidays and healing, all for a good cause and with good cheer. Come spend an enriching afternoon and evening to honor the darkest night of the year as participants welcome the coming of the Light, beginning a new season for a good cause.

When a person is ill or home bound, the power to heal involves more than medical treatment. Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice offers a wide range of high-quality home health care services which has served thousands and thousands of Mainer's in maintaining their health, independence and quality of life in their homes and communities. Thanks to their nonprofit mission of service, sustained for 40 years, their caring and professional staff is able to provide skilled home care and hospice care to community residents who lack health insurance.

The following events will be hosted at Nurture Through Nature in Denmark on Saturday, December 18: Community sauna 4-5:30 p.m., potluck 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Full Heart Community Kirtan, call and response devotional songs 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Relax and de-stress in Nurture through Nature’s spacious community sauna steam bath that comfortably holds 15 guests. Bring your bathing suit and a bath towel and warm your bones in this sweet space for healing and detoxifying. To follow the sauna those attending will enjoy good food with a community potluck and afterwards elevate with Full Heart Community Kirtan. (If sauna space fills up, still join in for the food and chant.)

This is an opportunity to give back to a good cause and pay it forward. Nurture Through Nature and Full Heart Community Kirtan are offering the sauna, meeting space and call and response chanting at no charge. All proceeds are donated to AHCH.

Guests are asked to help with the heating of the space by bringing an armful of fire wood or kindling. Also please bring a prepared pot luck dish to share and do what you can to donate generously to AHCH.
