AHCH announces winter 2011 adult, youth grief support programs

LEWISTON – Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice (AHCH) is offering programs this winter to provide information and support to adults and youth in central and western Maine grieving the death of a loved one.

Program sessions help participants understand the grief process, share feelings and experiences and find hope and comfort. All programs are led by trained bereavement volunteers and/or professional grief facilitators and are offered at no cost to participants.

Lewiston/Auburn

Adults:

Guidance through Grief - Eight Weeks, January 18-March 22 on Tuesdays, 2-3:30 p.m. Requires pre-registration. Co-sponsored with Central Maine Medical Center.

Children:

Program for Grieving Children and Teens - 10 Weeks, January 18-March 22 on Tuesdays, 7-8 p.m. Requires pre-registration. For youth ages three to 18 years old.

Farmington

Children:

Program for Grieving Children and Teens - 10 Weeks, January 20-March 24 on Thursdays, 7-8 p.m. Requires pre-registration. For youth ages three to 18 years old. Co-sponsored by St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Franklin Community Health Network.

AHCH, in collaboration with co-sponsoring organizations, offers grief support program at various times throughout the year.
