Join in for these LEA events

BRIDGTON - Lakes Environmental Association has announced the following upcoming events.

Identifying Trees in Pondicherry Park on Friday, December 3, at 10 a.m. Come stroll through the newly finished trails of Pondicherry park with Sarah Morrison and Mary Jewett. Learn the tricks and clues to identifying bare December trees as you meander along the paths. This walk will cover easy terrain over forest trails and will last approximately one and a half hours. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat and bring water. Meet at the LEA office.

A "Christmas Carol" on Friday, December 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bridgton Academy Chapel. Get into the holiday spirit with the amazing storyteller, Will Rhys, a renowned actor and director. In this benefit for LEA, he uses a bare stage and a minimum of props to evoke a vivid 19th century London, from Scrooge’s counting house to the Cratchit house. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Tickets are available at LEA and at the door.

Family Sled Ride and Walk through Pondicherry Park on Friday, December 31, at 10 a.m. Grab a sled and bundle your children for a nice leisurely sled ride with Sarah Morrison and Mary Jewett through the snow-covered trails of Pondicherry Park. As they slowly mush along they'll closely examine the many geometric shapes of the beautiful flakes. Good physical shape and appropriate winter gear are requirements for this hour-long trek. Meet at the LEA office.
